Long Dryer Vent Run Problems
A long vent run is the most common reason homeowners feel like their dryer is broken when it is not. The dryer is fine — it just cannot push air far enough fast enough.
Why length matters
Every foot of duct and every turn adds resistance. Push past the manufacturer's maximum equivalent length and airflow drops below what the dryer needs. Lint then settles in low-flow areas and the problem compounds.

- Replace foil with smooth metal duct
- Reduce sharp turns where possible
- Reroute to a shorter exit when feasible
- Add an inline booster only when reroute is not possible and the dryer manual allows it
